FAQ Flags
Is there a minimum order quantity for flags?
No. We print individual items and small batches using digital printing.Quantities from approx. 8 – 10 pieces (depending on the print motif) are produced using chemical screen printing.
What is the difference between screen printing and digital printing?
Screen printing is characterized by high UV and weather resistance as well as abrasion resistance.
It also has an existing color brilliance. Digital printing is ideal for certain motifs. It is quick to produce, inexpensive for small quantities and its resolution of 600 dpi means it is accurate in every detail.Which print is more cost-effective?
This depends on both the motif and the number of flags produced. Generally speaking, digital printing is usually cheaper for small quantities (up to 10 flags). Screen printing is cheaper for larger quantities.
What are the requirements regarding templates/print data?
The print is made on 100% polyester fabric and appears on the reverse side with a slightly lower intensity.
File formats: we differentiate between image files (photos) and vector files (logos and fonts).
Image data: You can upload image files in JPG, BMP, PNG or PDF format up to a size of 50 MB.
Create files at a ratio of 1:1 according to the desired flag size and placed motif size with a resolution of 72 dpi.
We do not recommend images from the Internet or cell phones, as the resolution is often very low and the print result is not satisfactory.
Vector data: Vector data in the form of PDF files is particularly suitable for graphic logos and graphics with clear lines, as vector graphics can be enlarged to the desired size without any loss of quality.
Vector files should be created at a ratio of 1:10 and always in CMYK mode. Please always convert fonts into curves. Please do not create crop marks.
Which color specifications are important?
Important printing colors that we can use as a guide are usually specified according to Pantone. Digital printing is printed in CMYK, whereas in screen printing (full-tone printing) the colors are mixed, which is why a color specification from the customer can be very helpful.
What is a flag assembly?
The various options for hanging the flag.
When do I use which flag type/construction?
Hoistable flags: Suitable for all locations with a wide range of wind conditions. Ideal for very windy areas. Formats not ideally suited for advertising media.
Flapping flags without boom:Suitable for a wide range of wind conditions.Ideally suited for company and advertising flags, as a large advertising area is available. The flag does not fully unfurl in light winds.
Flapping flags with boom: The flag is always unfurled even in light winds, resulting in an optimum advertising effect.Suitable for a wide range of wind loads with rotatable boom. Prerequisites are outrigger flagpoles that require a greater distance between the poles.
Banner flags: Flag is always unfurled even in light winds. Permanent flagging is not recommended at locations with strong winds. For traditional festivals and events.
What delivery time can I expect for digital printing and screen printing?
approx. 10 – 12 working days for digital printing and approx. 15 – 20 working days for chemical screen printing; from order clarification or from receipt of print-ready data.
We can deliver standard flags such as national flags / state flags more quickly.By arrangement, we can also shorten the delivery time if this is possible according to the current order situation.
How long do flags last?
The lifespan of a flag depends on various factors and can vary greatly, but is generally between a few months and up to two years (with optimum care). Flags are wear and tear items whose durability depends on use, location and environmental influences.
Tips for extending the service life:
In the event of storms and severe weather: take down the flags. The flag (unless it is a banner flag) can remain on the pole up to a wind force of 6. From 50 km/h the flag should be taken down.
Clean regularly: If soiled, flags can be washed in the washing machine at up to 60°C. Important: do not spin-dry but hang up dripping wet, the special flag fabric dries very quickly. Ensure correct mounting: Keep sufficient distance from facades and other objects.
For permanent flagging: Purchase a second set of flags so that you can inspect and clean the removed flags at your leisure. Special flag systems: Poles with internal rope guides are more suitable as the flag cannot hit the rope.
In summary, it can be said that by following these instructions and taking good care of your flag, you can significantly extend its life.
